TINY PALS OF DAISYBOOTS VILLAGE

Small characters with stories to tell

Welcome to Daisyboots Village – a place where pockets are tiny, hearts are huge, and everyone’s got a story. The Tiny Pals are a cheerful bunch of misfits, dreamers, and doers who always seem to get into just a wee bit of trouble (usually involving tea, biscuits, or glitter).

Each one is a handmade textile character with a twinkle of humour and a dash of Scottish charm – ready to bring a smile, share a secret, or simply keep you company on life’s little adventures.

Over time, some Tiny Pals have come to belong to particular places – small worlds that seem to grow with each new arrival

THISTLEWICK

Thistlewick  is a quiet, curious place – the sort you don’t quite find on purpose.

A cobbled little town tucked between the Pentland Hills and a whispering loch. It’s home to a collection of gentle souls, wanderers, and the occasional odd character who simple … arrived.

By day, Thistlewick looks like any quaint Scottish town – hanging baskets, scone-scented air, the faint jangle of the postman’s bike. But if you stay long enough, you start to notice odd little things. The library lights never seem to go out. The bakery clock is always five minutes slow. And every Thursday at dusk, a white-hatted figure can be seen crossing the square with a basket swinging at her elbow…

THE RETIRED SHOWGIRLS

Tucked discreetly down a leafy street somewhere near Smorningside, Thistle Court is advertised as ‘a peaceful assisted living development for cultured ladies’.  What the brochure does not mention is the regular outbreaks of show tunes, impromptu chorus lines in the corridor, and the ongoing dispute about who stole whose rhinestone tights in 2004.

Every Thursday morning a small but extremely glamorous group boards the bus for what they insist on calling: ‘The Big Shop’. Their routine is sacred:

1.Waitrose first: Where they leave a trail of glitter and feathers in the isles, judge everyone’s wine choices, and refer to the staff as ‘the children.’

2.M&S Food Hall second: For ‘something a little special for supper’, which inevitably means profiteroles, smoked salmon, and something involving Prosecco.

3.Coffee afterwards: Which always involves a slice of cake and where the conversation inevitably turns to who once dated a saxophonist

Locals in Morningside simply refer to them as The Glitterati‘.

ELSEWHERE

Not all Tiny Pals belong to known places.

Some arrive from elsewhere… and never quite explain how.

ICONS

Some Tiny Pals are inspired by familiar faces, reimagined in miniature textile form.
