Dennis the Menace, the archetypal badly behaved schoolboy and his sidekick Gnasher from the Beano Comic, is from a piece of vintage fabric which has been cleaned, reinforced and appliquéd onto red canvas. The straps are stripes of red and black canvas to match Dennis’s jumper.
The Beano was a British children’s comic magazine published by the Dundee based publisher DC Thomson.
